Kirsten’s Story
Kirsten grew up in South Africa, spending her childhood in Cape Town and later studying in the Stellenbosch Wine Region. After living in Johannesburg, Kirsten returned to Cape Town in 2017, where she later met Folu. The first night they met, Folu swept her off her feet, and took her dancing through the Cape Town streets. After sweeping her off her feet again, this time to Los Angeles, Folu later asked Kirsten to marry him on the beach in front of their home in California.
Folu’s Story
Folu was born in Cardiff, Wales but mostly grew up in Sutton Coldfield just outside Birmingham before going to university at Leeds Beckett University. Having worked in the UK and Austria he headed to sunny Cape Town in South Africa, where he continued to work for Red Bull. It was in this iconic city where he met and fell in love with Kirsten and the rest is history. Folu and Kirsten are returning to Cape Town, to celebrate with friends and family from around the world, in a place they once called home.
Our Story
We met in Cape Town, South Africa, through a number of mutual friends in work, art and music. The first night they met, Folu texted a friend to say he was going to marry Kirsten. We fell in love over good food and outdoor dining, music in the sunshine and endless summer wine. In 2019 we moved to The United States and today we live in Venice Beach, Los Angeles. We will be returning to the Stellenbosch Wine Region, where Kirsten studied, to celebrate our wedding!
